Click Message/Zoom-In

We need to do screenshots while zoomed in and this requires to be able to click somewhere in the screen to zoom in and move from the left to right view and vice versa.

Therefore we'd like just a simple click message added to the interface or zoom in and change view messages.
Alternatively, we could abuse the "unsafe" shoot mentioned in the "Server's latency" thread without a wait time to fake a click somewhere in the screen, if that's possible.

We could also add this messages ourselves if you'd give us the game server code and we'd sent a patched version back ASAP.

Hi Chrstian,

sorry, we cannot offer this. Note that shots are only executed in PLAYING mode and also only in a certain area around the slingshot.
This is done to prevent accidental or intentional clicking any of the buttons or the zoom bar or activating the menu etc.
If we don't make this restriction, the server might not know in which state it is in, in which level and so on and it might not record scores correctly or execute commands correctly.

If zooming in is absolutely essential for you, you could propose a method for the server to zoom in/out or move left/right/up/down that preserves the restrictions I mentioned above. That is any shots will only be executed in fully zoomed out playing mode.

actually we only need two fixed functions/commands:
  • Zoom In: Click on the PLUS (+) button (complementary to zoom out)
  • Switch View: Click on the center of the screen (actually any fixed coordinate where there is
    neither GUI buttons or slingshot)
We don't want to interfere with shooting/playing directly. We'd only use a generic click command to wrap these two anyways.

Ok, this has been added to the new server version.

Everyone who uses this, please remember two important things:
1. Always zoom out before you make a shot, alternatively you can reload the level after you zoomed in.
2. Only use the ClickInCenter command to switch view, never use a shoot command for switching view.

And finally: If these new commands cause a major drama, it will be team BlackForestCuckoos fault :)
