Is there a way that I could unlock the levels, right now as I understand the levels are sequential.. So is there a way that I could move to say level six after level 1.

At the competition, all levels will be unlocked.
You can unlock levels simply by solving them once. When you create an account under chrome.angrybirds.com and log in, then the levels will remain unlocked when you restart the game.
